We are hiring a Facilities Consultant to join our Facilities Maintenance Team, where we pride ourselves on maintaining a high standard of operational efficiency and excellence. We are seeking an individual who will manage a wide variety of tasks and maintenance activities in the Grand Rapids area. This person will oversee and coordinate vendors and staff to perform defined services. A primary focus of the role will be the day-to-day maintenance and oversight of the work order system. This role requires a technical skillset in the built environment to ensure we maintain a safe, positive, and professional experience for employees and customers.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Maintenance and Repair: Coordinates and schedules building repairs and preventive maintenance items, ensuring service requests are addressed promptly. Maintains records of all preventive maintenance tasks, as well as improves on existing practices and implements new best practices.
- Vendor and Contract Administration: Directs and oversees vendors, ensuring they meet service contract agreements, and processes payment through the online portal. Maintains up-to-date vendor contracts and insurance records.
- Systems: Manages the building maintenance systems, maintains asset databases, maintains operating manuals and procedures and handles maintenance needs from development to closure.
- Reporting: Supports department work order system reporting, status updates, predictive vs reactive repair cost analysis, and financial reporting.
- Assessments: Conducts daily assessments of facilities, grounds, and parking lots to ensure property is meeting expectations.
- Administrative Processes: Leads the invoicing and purchase order process, ensuring work is completed to expectations and vendors are paid.
- Cross-functionality: Assists as needed with all tasks related to facilities maintenance, whether it be physically using tools or coordinating and completing requests in a professional work environment.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within a related facilities field with a degree, or
- 5 years of proven experience in related facilities field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Facility Management, Architecture, Real Estate, Engineering or Construction Management.
- FMP, SFP, or CFM credentials a plus
- Proficient technology knowledge and demonstrated skills (Work Order Systems, AutoCAD, Revit, IWMS systems, Building Management Systems, Microsoft Office, SmartSheets).
- Strong technical skills and knowledge around building systems and building construction.
- Understanding and experience with HVAC systems, electrical systems, and building maintenance practices.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills for interaction with employees at all levels of the organization and in representing the company to outside audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, utilizing strong organization skills.
- Time management skills that will establish priorities and deadlines, obtain necessary resources, and oversee implementation.
- The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining the quality and functionality of our campus and facilities.
