Global Furniture Group, a leader in the workplace, education, healthcare + hospitality furniture industry has an immediate career opportunity at our Lawnside, NJ distribution center/location. This candidate will be responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Loading, unloading, sorting, and staging inbound trucks and containers both manually and with power industrial trucks in a safe manner.
- Loading, unloading, sorting, staging containers as well as transporting products, accurately pulling/preparing orders for processing of shipments and returns to include accepting return authorizations (RA).
- Reads and prepares supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes. Place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding/shipping area. Reorganize pallet racking systems as required.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins. according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 50-80lbs, occasionally lift and/or move objects 80-150 lbs.
- Complete/maintain daily/weekly maintenance of warehouse equipment. Assist in repairs and warranty issues. On occasion off-site service calls as needed.
- Communicate any issues with specific shipping, delivery, packaging and tagging requirements to Customer Care, Warehouse Manager or General Manager.
- Respond to both internal and external customer requests in a timely manner.
- Assist in performing inventory cycle counts.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Safely operate all warehouse PIT equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, claim trucks and pallet jacks.
- Wear all proper safety equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate with customers, sales personnel and internal staff.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge preferred.
- Ability to pass forklift and picker certification provided by Global.
- Dependable and reliable.
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2-3 yrs. previous warehouse experience preferred.
