Job Overview
We are looking for a Quality Engineer for our panels plant in Holland, MI.
As a Quality Engineer, You Will
Implement, monitor, and audit quality systems and procedures. Utilize statistical techniques to improve process/product quality and reliability. Coordinate and implement Quality Assurance (QA) activities with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production. This is an exciting time in the plant to be a part of growth and support. The Panels plant is led by data and focused on Quality.
Essential Functions
- Develops and researches new processes or improvements to existing processes, tooling, and equipment. Analyzes gaging requirements and cost, alternatives considered, and development and implementation of quality plans to meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
- Analyzes Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to prepare and update necessary documentation (first piece, inspection instructions, and process potential studies) as defined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for closure.
- Utilizes statistical techniques, tolerance analysis, process potential studies, and other processes to assure new tooling and equipment meet specifications for corporate SOPs and plant requirements. Develops and implements corrective action plans to bring non-conforming processes or tooling into compliance.
- Coordinates and maintains corrective action systems (for internal and external failures) so identification, prioritization, and correction of problems occur efficiently and effectively. Conducts internal and external audits.
- Participates in and executes quality deliverables for New Product Introduction (NPI) budgets, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) design reviews, gaging, Quality Function Deployment (QFD), and reliability goals to project leader or plant staff as assigned.
- Develops, maintains, and implements quality/reliability plans for major projects. Monitors test progress to assure compliance to specified parameters. Provides results to Quality managers or project leaders.
- Develops and initiates systems to gather data for analysis and reporting on plant operations.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

- Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent in relevant field of study
- Education Equivalency: Associate degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years of quality or engineering experience
Work Experience
- 2 years of quality or engineering professional work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma lean certification.
- CQE or ASQ certification.
- Experience with SAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
