This focus of this role is to execute the tasks associated with the Corporate Recycling Center.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Corporate Recycling Center
- Assist in unloading of recycle materials from BU’s trucks
- Weigh materials and document receipt from BU
- Responsible for loading baled or boxed recycle materials on Vendor trucks
- Designated Technician – responsible for driving box truck to customers/vendors for transport of recycling materials
- Responsible for completing shipping paperwork for recycle materials
- Capability of entering quantities and BU information into the computer for tracking
- Responsible for sorting recycle materials as necessary (should be very limited)
- Responsible for contacting vendors to schedule pick-ups of materials
- Responsible to bale recyclable materials
- Responsible for shredding of documents
- Responsible to maintain a clean facility environment (housekeeping)
- May also be asked to assist in environmental technician duties
- Responsible for working with local government agencies and other local businesses as part of delivery/pick-up services
- Responsible to provide assistance to the business units in the area of recycling/re-use
- Must be willing to take on new challenges of areas that have not been covered before, and/or with respect to new regulations, new opportunities that are required to maintain compliance
- Must be capable of self-directed prioritization of work load
Skills To Perform This Role
- Operation of forklift
- Operation of hydraulic baler
- Designated Driver Technician – Capability of operating box truck
- Good communication skills
- Basic knowledge of computer software – specifically Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook, and be familiar with the internet
- Willing and able to work individually as well as in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of safety and environmental issues/responsibilities
- Familiar with basic classes of recyclable materials, or willingness to learn
- Enthusiastic toward re-use and recycle opportunities
