Your Role
As a Gensler Designer, your job is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. With you as part of the design team, interiors have never been so engaging.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate on workplace interior design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and management of budgets and schedules
- Coordinate with junior team members and Project Architects on delivery of project milestones
- Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, lighting, and furniture specifications
- Provide project team coordination for finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction
- Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
- Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, consultants, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination
- Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships
- Champion Gensler’s diversity and inclusion goals with respect to staff, partners, and consultants
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school
- 0-3 years of experience as a Designer
- Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3D and other modeling software programs
- Strong knowledge of the design process, including FF+E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials
- Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, SPEXX a plus
- Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas
- Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
- A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Goals to pursue interior design certification or licensure and LEED accreditation are encouraged
- Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
