Our corporate design technology team is currently seeking a Design Technology Support Specialist to be part of our collaborative Advanced Technology Group. This role is part of a team that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation in architecture and design by providing expertise and/or advisement to project teams for implementation of advanced design technology techniques.
Who is the ideal candidate for this role?
You will be an ideal candidate if you are an organized, self-starter providing Tier 1 support for design technology. You'll have impeccable communication skills, both written and oral, to answer user inquiries regarding software or use of hardware in project design and delivery workflows.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Train users in the proper use of software or hardware related to design and delivery of projects.
- Provide feedback on project-based activities to the Design Technology Manager and firmwide team.
- Maintain knowledge of current and evolving design software, industry developments in integrated/collaborative practice, and other applicable techniques.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve project team efficiency and quality of deliverables.
- Actively participates in ongoing efforts to improve overall HOK standards.
- May assist project teams in BIM coordination tasks.
- Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge in building information modeling programs and applicable techniques.
- Advanced knowledge in Revit required.
- Expertise in 3D modeling and analysis software, with the capability to configure these applications.
- Demonstrates excellent ability to communicate and present effectively to various stakeholders.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices, integrated design principles, and LEED guidelines.
- Demonstrates the ability to effectively meet deadlines and manage personal time efficiently, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
- Ability to work independently in both on-site and remote environments.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, information technology or a related discipline required.
- 3-5 years' experience in Architectural, Engineering and Construction industry.
- 3-5 years’ progressive experience in BIM/3D Modeling.
- LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education and location. The reasonably expected salary range for this position in Washington D.C. is $34.62/hour to $40.85/hour, plus overtime as needed. Other compensation may include a discretionary bonus.
