Vargas Associates provides Interior Design and Facilities Project Management services to businesses and organizations in the Central and Western New York areas that seek to create new space or transform their existing space. We provide leadership in managing facilities renovation, furniture coordination and relocation projects. Our company delivers the upfront planning and logistics to define the project from inception and carry it thru all design phases, construction and occupancy. We facilitate the process required to coordinate the details and assist the client with the decisions necessary to deliver a project that meets the functional needs of their organization and their customer requirements.
Our work is conducted in the Healthcare, K-12, Higher Education, Corporate and Municipal fields. Experience in these commercial sectors is an important consideration for this position.
Summary
Provide support to company projects under the direction of a company principal or account manager. This position will require preparation of schematic designs, detailed designs, finish selections for interiors and FF&E coordination. Oversight of extensive project details includes creation of project schedules, understanding key dependencies and contingency planning, cost projections, creation of bid documents, budget tracking, collaboration with architects, engineers, and construction managers. This candidate may also deliver relocation management services where they will need to lead contractors, installers and movers through the implementation of project details.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Meet with internal customers to gather requirements
- Conduct programming meetings and prepare summary reports
- Conduct physical inventories and create inventory reports
- Create space plans, finish plans, dimensioned drawings, finish schedules, finish specifications, product specifications, and 3D color renderings
- Create cohesive design through the selection of interior finishes to create the desired impact for each space within a given project including lighting and acoustics
- Ensure functional workspace environments are created
- Prepare and maintain project documentation (drawings, meeting notes, project files)
- Secure quotes from vendors / Create work order requests for owners
- Coordinate ancillary needs including: signage, artwork, appliances, accessories,
- Identify scope of work to support transitional needs of each space
- Oversee completion of vendor work, including installations and relocations
- Document project punch list and coordinate completion of items
- Additional responsibilities to support company deliverables
- Deliver all work within the client’s deadlines, juggling multiple concurrent deadlines for more than one client at a time
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of experience working as a Commercial Interior Designer. Ability to manage multiple initiatives at the same time is essential. Experience working with project managers, architects, engineers, construction contractors and associated suppliers preferred. Willingness to learn new processes and project delivery methods essential.
This position will also require intermediate level in AutoCAD 2020-2024, AutoCAD Revit Architecture 2022-2024, SketchUp Pro, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience with additional visualization software programs is a plus. This candidate will express excellent interpersonal, written, and creative design skills in the workplace. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are critical to this position. This position will require the tracking of personal work hours against a project plan and within a project budget. The ability to work collaboratively with both staff and clients in a positive and productive demeanor is essential. Experience in a client-focused, fast-paced, project-based environment is necessary. This position will work with various internal and external team members and will report to the company President.

This is a salary position and pays according to the experience and qualifications of the applicant and ability to meet the job requirements noted. Salary and bonus range: $48K - $60K.
