Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our team in Holland, MI.
As a Procurement Specialist, You Will
Develop and implement commodity strategies. Identify and address supplier quality, delivery, and service issues. Monitor and coordinate supplier corrective actions and development initiatives. Identify and eliminate inefficiencies within the supply chain. May also develop and manage sources of supply for medium-risk commodities.
Essential Functions
- Analyzes Supplier Performance: Uses Haworth systems (e.g., AMAPS, Baan, EMPAC, SAP, QIS, NCM) to identify supplier issues, initiate corrective actions, and track performance.
- Manages Supplier Base and Supply Chain: Ensures lead time, quality, and on-time complete delivery meet Haworth objectives.
- Leads Supplier Quality Task Teams: Utilizes the SQTT process to drive supplier development.
- Collaborates with Planners and Suppliers: Works closely with Commodity Material Planners, Production Planners, end-users, and suppliers to reduce lead-time and Haworth inventory investment using JIT techniques.
- Develops Sources of Supply: Manages competitive bidding, supplier selection, and negotiating contract terms for medium-risk commodities to ensure supply chain performance.
- Participates in Project Teams: Represents the Purchasing function in project teams, providing input from the supply chain process.
- Maintains Database: Uses Haworth systems and spreadsheet analysis software to evaluate technical and financial data.
- Effective written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Strong relationship management, interpersonal, and team building skills required.
- Ability to travel overnight away from corporate offices, up to ten percent of time, and provide own transportation to and from suppliers' and/or potential suppliers' locations.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
- Must be able to perform all essential job function with/without accommodation.
- Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
Do you have these Required Qualifications?
- Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain or relevant field of study.
- Education Equivalency: Associate Degree plus 2 years related exp OR 4 years related exp

Do you have these Preferred Qualifications?
- 2 years supply chain experience preferred.
- Strategic sourcing experience.
- Experience in the glass/hardware commodity space.
- Experience using SAP.
