Role Description
The Senior Applications Developer – SAP is responsible for providing systems architecture, application development, systems support and mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Participate in writing business cases, cost justification and functional specifications.
- Create, review, and maintain conceptual designs.
- Create and maintain technical specifications for complex application, integration, or infrastructure solutions.
- Mentor Developers on best practices used for development.
- Perform design reviews on completed projects.
- Research and prototype applications and technologies which align with the goals and objectives of the business.
- Participate in requirements gathering, design, development, deployment, testing and support of processes and technology that are simple, standard and support the vision and goals of Kimball International.
- Participate in the construction of development standards and the adherence to those standards that will be used throughout the implementation and support process.
- Collaborate with the Kimball Business Units to support and enhance technologies such as ERP, EDI, business intelligence, systems integrations, mobile and web applications.
- Collaborate with Senior Applications Developers on creating and documenting the technical design.
- Promote strategy to reduce costs through standardization and automation.
- Promote the use of standard application functionality.
- Stay current with technology trends and best practices.
- Identify methods to use Information Technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness within Kimball International
- Ensure that effective communication is applied at all times to all parties for project status, support issues and general questions.
- Monitor support tickets for high priority issues and work with manager to disposition.
- Build and maintain business relationships to ensure proper alignment to our business strategy.
- Develop, execute, and maintain documentation for processes and projects.
- Support Vision and Guiding Principles of Kimball International and the goals of the Business Units.
