What We Need
We are looking for a
Quality Engineer to join our Gunlocke team in Wayland, NY! In this role, you will lead problem-solving efforts using Lean methodologies to investigate and improve complex issues. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in shop floor management within a manufacturing environment, strong leadership skills, and the ability to wear multiple hats.
What You Will Do
- Work with multiple levels inside and outside of the organization to ensure the quality of parts and finished goods
- Support factory and assist in resolving day-to-day quality issues
- Maintain visibility with members on the plant floor and make yourself available to them to discuss quality issues as they arise
- Analyze data, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action and audit processes
- Lead scrap, rework and warranty reduction activities
What You Have
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technical field or equivalent experience
- Experience navigating highly complex products and processes
- Understanding of PLM or similar processes for the successful launch of new products
- Strong knowledge of product launch using project management tools for on-time and quality products
- Proven track record of exceeding plant policy deployment goals for quality, warranty costs and CCPM defect rates
