This role will operate onsite 5 days/week, Monday – Friday.
The Role
As the Plant Superintendent you will manage the Diecut shift operations through the most efficient, safe and cost-effective use of human resources, equipment and facilities to produce quality products, meet customer demand and supply chain requirements. Promote and maintain a productive work environment encapsulating the Fellowes Brand core values and principles. Provide suggestions and feedback to improve departmental processes, performance goals, and environment. Drive, facilitate and manage continuous improvement initiatives to drive process improvement.
In This Role, You will…
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment, reinforce safe operating procedures and develop safety improvements with the support of the shift personnel.
- Coordinate departmental operations including but not limited to machine scheduling, sheet inventory accuracy and employee utilization.
- Coordinate timely delivery of raw materials with external vendor.
- Monitor machine center performance, track key indicators, and input daily productivity and waste.
- Identify key data sources and utilize data-driven insights about important departmental metrics to improve business decisions.
- Participate, facilitate, and drive continuous improvement project teams.
- Coach, develop, counsel and cross-train direct reports and build/maintain a staffing matrix for the department’s organization.
- Monitor employee safety, quality, productivity, job knowledge, teamwork, and attendance. Administer performance reviews and corrective action as necessary.
What You Bring To The Team
- Five or more years in a similar or related position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Management or Business preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrate outstanding leadership capabilities including employee coaching, objective setting, and professional development.
- Demonstrate excellence in key areas of management such as quality management, relationship management, risk management, and staff direction.
- Independently make decisions, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness.
- Forecast and adapt to changes in workforce headcount and skill requirements.
- Demonstrate the capacity to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities while remaining calm and controlled.
- Retain objectivity and proper understanding of a problem or situation when placed under stressful conditions.
- Employ effective time management skills to meet and/or exceed expectations.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office. Knowledge of Oracle a plus.
- Strong process improvement skills and ability to develop and implement processes.
- Exercise critical and strategic thinking and demonstrate prudent judgment when making important decisions by utilizing knowledge of industry best practices and current trends
