Job Responsibilities
Assist in coordinating the office functions of shipping and receiving, also incorporating picking and/or locating functions of the distribution departments.
- Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment through theenforcement of housekeeping safety policies. Perform general
- Provide suggestions and feedback on improving departmental processes, performance goals, and environment.
- Track, prepare, and maintain accurate records of orders including arrivaland departure times for inbound and/or outbound shipments.
- Proficiently use current warehouse management system to effectivelytroubleshoot and solve problems including research of receipts and Bills of Lading.
- Accurately track dock assignments and trailers in the yard.
- Confirm and/or schedule pickup and delivery appointments with carriers.
- Maintain accurate and organized files of all receipt and shipping records. Accurate and timely preparation of all corresponding receipt and shipping paperwork.
- Operate various types of forklifts to perform Lift Truck Operator duties asnecessary to support receiving and shipping operations. See Lift Truck Operator job description.
- Other related and similar duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possess good oral and written communication skills.
- Successfully complete and pass required lift truck operation tests and training,and obtain and maintain appropriate lift truck licensing. Able to use RF(radio frequency) units.
- Able to pay close attention to detail and follow instructions/procedures to meet quality standards.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks (including physical requirements as described below) on a consistent basis.
- Must be able to perform pre-shift stretching (includes: bending, reaching and stretching with hands, arms, legs and feet and bending and twisting waist) as required for position.
- Able to work a 40 hour work schedule. Maintain consistent and acceptable attendance. Available to work overtime as needed, including weekend work. Available for mandatory overtime as appropriate based on business demands.
- Able to fulfill all essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
- Abide by all safety policies, procedures, rules, and guidelines in order to prevent and reduce exposure to accidents and injuries.
- Able to work in a team environment by assisting in training and facilitating job duties for other team members (including temps). Demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Proficiency with PC’s, including the following software packages: Microsoft and WMS Oracle. Able to use Microsoft Outlook to communicate with people onother shifts and address issues as necessary.
- Exercise critical thinking and demonstrate prudent judgment when makingdecisions independently. Manage multiple assignments/tasks simultaneously and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
- Some knowledge of Spanish would be helpful but not requirement.
- Effectively follow shipping plan and objectively distribute work orders to lifttruck operators.
