We are hiring a Maintenance Superintendent to lead and manage the maintenance division and ensure that maintenance work is performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
What You Will Be Doing:
Plans and directs the activities of the plant maintenance departments of all three shifts. At times of production crisis, assumes a leadership role in accessing causes, evaluating recovery plans and directing activities (i.e. equipment breakdown or major quality issue that prevents product from being shipped)
- Developing and implementing a preventive maintenance plan that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives
- Scheduling and assigning maintenance work to the maintenance team to ensure timely completion
- Reviewing maintenance requests and identifying priorities for maintenance work
- Tracking and analyzing equipment and maintenance data to identify trends and patterns
- Developing and updating maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and codes
- Managing maintenance budgets, tracking costs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Providing training and coaching to maintenance staff to improve their skills and knowledge
- Managing and supervising maintenance staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources to perform their work effectively
- Monitoring work progress and leading problem resolution
- Establishing department priorities in conjunction with production
- Recommending and managing the Equipment Reliability budget
- Interviewing and recommending for hire the apprentices and journeymen needed to support proper staffing
- Adhering to accepted safety practices, identifying potential safety problems and ensuring good housekeeping
- Consulting on Safety Sign Off Procedure, new equipment, and cost savings related to production, automation, and equipment in the plants
- Developing bids and specifications for outside maintenance contractor work
- Assisting in the administration of policy formulation of the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program, Budgeting, Company policy, and manpower planning
