Job Description
We have an immediate need for a full time A&D Sales Representative in New York City, to join our dynamic and diverse team, with the freedom to work remotely from home. This is an outside sales role, responsible for managing and growing our business within the New York Metro area.
As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for effectively creating new opportunities in the New York City territory. You will also develop, organize, manage, and nurture existing opportunities, client relationships and provide support for distributor reps within your territory to achieve the overall vision of meeting sales targets and growing sales volume.
You will report directly to the Sales & Market Leader and performance will be assessed based on agreed sales targets, developing new customer relations and revenue streams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a complete understanding of our products to enable effective marketing and sales and raise brand awareness within the A&D community and key influencers such as interior designers, architects, commercial furniture dealers, general contractors, and developers.
- Provide designers and clients with information on products, pricing, lead times, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
- Distribute and maintain up-to-date marketing materials, including binders and postcards, and coordinate mock-up sample requests among distributor reps and A&D firms.
- Identify key targets and qualifying prospective clients, effectively set client expectations, develop new accounts and opportunities to generate sales growth, and nurture existing relationships with consistent follow-ups.
- Actively engage in business development activities and stay up to date with the latest industry developments throughout the local A&D community by attending a variety of events, including those targeted at end users, design, commercial furniture dealers, construction, and real estate professionals.
- Provide leadership, collaboration, knowledge, and expertise to the local NY A/E/C community.
- Lead the solution-selling process, function as the go-to presenter, be familiar with all sales tools, and utilize the sales rep kit and product presentations.
- Monitor the progress of projects from start to finish, including follow-up and attending in-person and virtual project meetings to ensure complete client satisfaction.
- Document all sales activities in the CRM, record current client activity and prospect development, and present to the sales leader weekly.
- Manage time and resources to ensure personal and team sales targets are met.
- Forecast sales, develop sales strategies, manage leads, and follow up after sales.
- Provide project direction to and coordinate with the Sales Coordinator and Design team.
- Meet or exceed sales targets, complete weekly KPI activities, maintain, and report monthly expenses.
- Provide integrated project management for large projects, coordinating all elements of project delivery, including tasks, resources, stakeholders, and deliverables. Provide schedule updates, manage project delays, attend project meetings, and report weekly to the production, sales, and quote team leads.
Strategic Work:
- Support the increase of brand, product, and product benefit awareness.
- Develop and manage new sales streams, including but not limited to GSA and Furniture Dealers.
- Support, develop, and capture company sales processes to help improve efficiency and ways of working.
- Ensure company sales agreements, NDAs, and contracts are in place and up to date, including but not limited to Distributor Reps and Furniture Dealers.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of sales experience.
- Established relationships in the A&D market are ideal.
- Knowledgeable with CRM/Monday.com, Outlook, Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Slack.
- Monitor opportunities and projects from start to finish and provide weekly reports through the CRM/Monday.com system.
- Ability to collaborate with a team that has a strong remote team-oriented culture.
- Organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent listening, presentation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be persistent, responsive, flexible, competitive and initiative taking.
- Knowledge of industry standards applicable to the product and other pertinent rules/regulations governing material and design standards.
- Experience selling solid surface material, contract furniture and customization is a plus.
- A focus on healthcare is a plus.
- Ability to travel.
