Job Responsibilities
To safely operate the Assembly Folder Gluer and to perform a variety of duties including set-ups, adjustments, and minor maintenance to produce a quality product, ensuring a smooth flow of material through the Department.
- Promote and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Provide suggestions and feedback on improving departmental processes, performance goals and environment.
- Operate the Folder Gluer by maintaining raw material flow, feeding material, and by monitoring machine performance, performing setups, and making adjustments.
- Communicate mechanical or quality problems to the Department Supervisor, Superintendent, or designate.
- Assist with other Department operations as needed.
- Provide training to others in Folder Gluer operations and support functions as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning as needed.
- All other related and similar duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Fulfill all essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
- Understand verbal and written instructions. Able to effectively communicate with team.
- Abide by all safety policies, procedures, rules and guidelines in order to prevent and reduce exposure to accidents and injuries.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Physical presence at designated worksite, work a 40-hour work schedule, maintain consistent and acceptable attendance and work overtime as required, including weekend and holiday work based on business demands.
- Pay close attention to detail and follow instructions and procedures to meet quality standards.
- Work in a team environment by assisting in training and facilitating job duties for other team members (including temps). Demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Successfully complete and pass required Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) training and test and obtain and maintain appropriate PIV licensing.
- Use Radio Frequency (RF) units.
- Able to work in a machine paced, team environment.
- Able to make minor mechanical adjustments, using basic hand tools.
- Able to take the initiative in providing leadership for the support functions onthe Folder Gluer line to safely maximize machine performance.
Physical Requirements
Perform repetitive tasks as required.
Perform pre-shift stretching (includes: bending, reaching and stretching with hands, arm, legs and feet and bending and twisting waist) as required for position.
