General Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide supervised engineering support and expertise to maintain and improve manufacturing equipment and processes. Essential Functions: Be able to function in PC based computer systems (excel, word, outlook). Basic knowledge of part print reading and interpretation. Be able to read and understand routings. Have a high degree of HMI product knowledge. Participates in continuous improvement projects. Can quickly diagnose machine issues and see that the proper countermeasures are being implemented. Effectively communicate with Maintenance team members when machine downtime issues occur. Must be able to make decisions based on sound engineering principles. Must be able to work cross functionally with people from Purchasing, Operations, CAM, and Industrial Engineering. With supervision, initiates process improvement projects based on personal observations and operations input (My Opinion Matters). Must be detail orientated to ensure accuracy of information delivered. Participates in continuous learning, e.g. educational and training opportunities. Retains an open attitude toward new engineering ideas / methods / technologies. Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives. Qualifications : 2-4 years of experience in an engineering or maintenance environment (including Technical Machine Operator). Experience with PC based computer systems and familiarity with standard programs such as EXCEL and WORD. Requires familiarity with basic measuring equipment (e.g. calipers, tape measurer). Able to work to deadlines and completions. Able to manage own workload and be self-motivated. Team player skills. Works under direct supervision.
