We are hiring a 2025 Logistics Summer Intern to use analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, improve, forecast and/or support logistic operations and processes. You will monitor and adjust transportation optimization plans, analyze trends, and collaborate with various departments to implement strategies that enhance efficiency, minimize costs, and support other business objectives.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Identify savings and value opportunities through data analysis and be able to work with internal and external partners
- Collect, analyze and recommend action to support key metrics and other strategic projects.
- Provide supply chain analysis to minimize costs, maximize utilization and throughput.
- Ensure the data that is in our TMS is complete and accurate for our clients.
- Employ best practices to analyze large amounts of data while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Assemble and summarize large data sets; prepare reports with solid conclusions regarding trends and findings.
- Examine current processes and implement or recommend improvements to drive out waste
- Applies tactical processes daily within the established business rules.
- Forge and strengthen partnerships with various departments to ensure alignment of supply chain goals with company objectives and promote a unified approach to challenges.
- Tracks, monitors and measures implemented solutions for moderately complex issues, applying company policies and procedures in the resolution of various issues. May also perform gap analysis.
- Communicates perceived risks to senior staff members and leadership with recommendations for mitigation.
- Receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
Your Future Team:
This role will be part of a team requiring analysis and execution of raw & finished goods transportation strategies. The analyst will be responsible for assembling data, analyzing optimizer results, identifying problems, and developing recommendations which support operational goals.
The work enables order management flexibility, increased order-build alignment, and order-ship variability to support best in customer service levels while minimizing overall costs. Focused on maximizing finished goods and raw inventory throughput, improving planning efficiency through improved analytical toolsets and reports, and driving margin improvement through lean initiatives. Partners closely with the order management, material planning and plant scheduling teams.
Who You Are:
Required Skills and Competencies
- Currently enrolled in applicable discipline from an accredited school
- Attending a full time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program
- Degree focused in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, IT Security, Informatics, Information Science/Technology, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Security and Risk Analysis, or other relevant STEM majors with Software/IT experience.
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, analytically minded, use critical thinking and be able to support and manage multiple projects. Be able, motivated, and energized to support a global business operating in multiple time-zones and work cross-functionally and cross-culturally with internal and external clients/partners.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Extensive knowledge of analysis tools and techniques preferred.
- Experience using statistical tools and concepts (e.g., EXCEL, Minitab, etc…)
- Experience working a team-based environment
- Strong technical documentation and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable transportation, many of our sites do not have public transportation available
- Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in software, IT or relevant area.
- Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom.
- A strong commitment to a career in technology and passion/aptitude for both software and information technology.
- Strong analytical and technical skills with experience in software industry standards and development tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate clearly.
- Demonstrated creative problem solving and proactive learning
