JOB SUMMARY
With minimal supervision, review credit worthiness of clients and approve/hold orders accordingly. Collect on outstanding invoices that are beyond terms. Knowledge of credit card processing and regulations. Identify and implement Credit and Collections process improvements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assign customer receivable portfolio.
- Independently plan, analyze and carry out collection of past due accounts.
- Conduct timely research, analysis and decision making for resolution of deductions and disputed items, short/over-payments.
- Reconcile accounts in timely manner; analysis of transactions and initiate credits and adjustments to accounts, as well as accurate clearing of corresponding credits and debits.
- Understand company's order process & identify cause issues that obstruct invoicing, collections and deduction resolution. Includes initiating and driving cross functional resolutions.
- Review orders on credit hold and take appropriate action to ensure orders are released in a timely manner.
- Initiate and maintain complete, accurate and updated records of contacts, collection activities and account reconciliations.
- Ongoing process improvement focus, making recommendations and participating and or leading implementations to improve department efficiency.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers and other functional groups at all levels including executive decision makers.
- Keep management informed of unusual or non-standard issues and escalate when appropriate.
- Provide coverage during hours of responsibility for peer(s).
- Process Credit Card payments.
- Manage high call volume.
- Perform additional duties/projects as assigned.
MAGNITUDE AND RELATIONSHIP REPORTING
This position reports to the Manager, Finance.
CONTACTS INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE ORGANIZATION
This position typically has contact with clients, client services, claims dept, resource management, warehouse, custom studio, sales and programming staff. Additionally, this position has significant contact with customers, banks, credit agencies and reference companies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge in financial statement analysis, cash application, journal entry, adjustments & credit memos and collections.
- Organized and able to multi task.
- Working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on process improvement projects from initial idea through implementation.
- Knowledge of payment processors, including credit card, letter of credit and international transactions and foreign exchange.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of credit analyst experience along with 2 years of collection experience
- Financial statement analysis.
A starting compensation range for this role is $60,500-$75,575/annually. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors . You may also be eligible to receive a geographic premium.
