We are hiring a Regional Applications Consultant support the regional sales team’s strategic sales activities relating to product applications. You will contribute to sales efforts by leveraging and translating design research and insights to product solution concepts for customers. This individual supports business in the South Central Region and will travel throughout the region 25 % of the time to Dallas, Houston, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and Memphis.

You will proactively impact the selling process by providing unique design application and collaborative workplace experiences that will differentiate Steelcase from the competition. You are responsible for complete knowledge of all product lines for the purpose of creative application. The expected outcome is that we will improve our win rate, strengthen our relationships, and provide a more valued final solution.

Who You Are:
You are an experienced Interior Designer who desires a role where you can make greater impact on the customer experience and product selection process. You know how to use good design application to solve customer business issues. You are comfortable leading customer engagements, presenting, and delegating. You are skilled in time management and prioritization. You have a demonstrated understanding of the design process with the ability to:
- Design/space plan and specify creative solutions with systems and freestanding furniture.
- Discuss business issues and insights in client facing situations and to write narrative/create graphics about our applications that highlight the insights.
- Conceptualize product solutions and then express them verbally through the drawing/deliverable.
- Conduct analysis, synthesis and translation. Able to take abstract information and apply insights and learnings in a way that yields creative applications.
- Coordinates large projects using strong project management skills and a multi-disciplined team approach.
- Work directly with customer groups during showroom visits, host informal design sessions and lead information gathering conversations.
Collaboration with the larger sales team throughout South Central region is imperative in this role. This requires excellent prioritization and time management skills along with the ability to work successfully with different work styles within the team.
Minimum Qualifications (recruiter filtering criteria that dictates who advance to a pre-screen, and who is disqualified upon application)
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design
- 5 years of experience in design as a Corporate Interior Designer within a design firm or progressive dealer design department
- Must be proficient in drawing and specification software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or CET Designer.
Desired Skills and Experience (differentiates a candidate and is evaluated in a pre-screen)
- Office Furniture procurement experience
- Office Furniture space planning
