Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Human Resources Business Partner I to join our team onsite in Big Rapids, MI.
As a Human Resources Business Partner I, You Will
Independently support internal customer group on member relations strategies, programs, services, and solutions designed to enable company to successfully meet business needs. Functions as both business partner and member advocate between management and members to interpret, administer, and implement corporate policies, procedure, and cultural initiatives. Works with management to ensure fair and consistent compliance with corporate policies, practices, and objectives.
Do you have these required qualifications?
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, industrial relations, human resources management, or equivalent.
- Education Equivalency:
- Associate degree plus 2 years of related experience or,
- High school diploma plus 4 years of related experience.
Work Experience
- 2 years experience as a Human Resources generalist or specialist or equivalent, including 1 year of employee relations experience.
- Experience counseling and coaching members and managers in HR member relations-related situations.

- HR manufacturing experience.
- SHRM certification.
Essential Functions
- HR Business Partners perform a specialized type of HR work focused on HR consulting to the business including: HR consulting and coaching; working with business leaders to identify and solve significant people and cultural issues; providing expertise in aspects of employment including hiring, termination, performance management, rewards.
- The HR Business Partner is embedded with assigned customer group to understand specific business drivers, issues and concerns, including internal and external environmental factors that impact the group; establishes and implements action plans that help internal customer groups achieve their goals by providing support to leaders and members. They understand the capabilities and skills necessary within the organization's talent pool to achieve business goals.
- Supports and facilitates cultural change initiatives by training and supporting both members and management staff, using positive influencing skills and various coaching tools, including Leadership Development tools and Haworth Management System (HMS) principles, to ensure Haworth values and best practices are applied. Monitors change initiatives and assists with transformation status.
- Partnering with the business and other HR teams to focus and develop key talent initiatives like workforce planning, hi-potential employee development, succession planning, action planning from talent stream sessions, etc. As a Plant HRBP, attend the needs of the Production members in engagement, development and career advancement.
- Counsels, coaches, and advises members regarding member relations issues to promote work atmosphere of dignity and respect aligned with corporate values. At times, refers members to appropriate resources for assistance.
- Drive the organization and HR Business Partner team towards a culture of excellence, prepares leaders and teams to embrace organizational change, and collaborates with HR and business leaders to ensure employees feel engaged and inspired to deliver business results in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Investigates members’ concerns and complaints to identify problems. Consults with Director or Senior Human Resources Business Partner on appropriate recommendation and actions and facilitates conflict resolution, documenting facts and results as required for appropriate follow-up.

- Ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
