Job Overview
We are currently looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Holland. The level at which you will be hired at is based on experience.
As An Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, You Will
This role is responsible for investigating, implementing, and/or supporting technical improvements in manufacturing execution; developing within and cross plant technology/equipment/process strategy and standardization; and developing, or supporting the development of technical specification and financial justification of new capital technical projects.
Do you have these required qualifications?
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Technology.
- Minimum 6 years engineering experience with a Maters degree or 8 years engineering experience with a Bachelor degree.
- Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to work and commute onsite daily to our headquarters in Holland, MI (relocation assistance is not provided)
- Ability climb/bend/balance in manufacturing environment and lift/move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel including monthly day trips and quarterly overnight domestic trips.
Do you have these preferred qualifications?
- Six-sigma certified or trained.
- Other problem-solving or data analytics training.
- Understanding of manufacturing finances.
- Working with and influencing cross-functional Teams.
- Coaching/mentoring experience.
- Understanding of product measurement, gaging, and testing strategies.
- PLC Controls experience, MES experience, and/or computer coding experience.
- Vision system hardware and software knowledge highly desirable.
- Ability to seek new methods or technologies to solve problems, without getting lost in the search.
- Hobbies or interests that develop hands on mechanical or programming skills.
- Furniture, automotive, automation, equipment building/technology integration industry experience.
- Industries who have one or more of the following processes are desirable (wood-working, metal-forming (punching, bending, and/or roll-forming), welding, product assembly, powder-coat/e-coat).
Ideally, You Have Also Demonstrated The Following
- Ability to problem solve and experiment utilizing a diverse and broad background of knowledge
- Ability to take risks while employing a “fail fast” methodology
- Ability to collaborate with patent attorneys on process and part development
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, trip reports, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public
- Ability to work within mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Must be able to work in development-oriented team environment
