Position: Interior Designer
Location: DC 2-3 days in office a week
Salary: $85-95k
Must haves
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or interior design
- 3+ years of experience working on interior architecture
- Experience designing commercial projects (restaurants, convention centers, arenas, or office spaces)
- Proficient in specifically Revit and other design software
Pluses
- InDesign Experience
- Working on projects over 100 million dollars
Overview
As a creative and detail-oriented interior designer, you will be required to support project managers, senior architects and senior designers in engaging with clients to understand their unique design needs and goals for a variety of spaces, conceptualize designs in 2D or 3D drawings, collaborate with various stakeholders (vendors, architects, contractors, etc., as needed), source materials and oversee the installation of the final design. Your goal is to help clients achieve their practical and aesthetic objectives for the space, while using your expertise to guide the design process, create functional, artful spaces and project manage every design to successful completion within budget.
Experience with workplace, corporate commercial and/or amenities is a must.
Responsibilities:
Support the project manager, senior architect or senior interior designer with:
· Meeting with clients to identify goals and requirements for the space to be designed.
· Collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors and other experts to achieve the budgetary, functional and aesthetic needs of the space.
· Analyzing how people operate and move in the space, as well as patterns of use.
· Conceptualizing design plans and preparing sketches or other visual aids to present designs to the client.
· Creating look & feel boards or presentations to help clients visualize your design.
· Consulting with the client to choose materials, furnishings and color palettes that will help fulfill the requirements and vision of the space.
· Using Revit and other design applications to create the final drawings and packages to be shared with stakeholders.
· Assisting with the project timeline, costs and preparation of accurate estimates to clients.
· Ordering or obtaining design materials (furnishings, finishes, etc.), as needed, to meet the project and budget specifications.
· Overseeing the installation of design elements.
· Reviewing the project site after final installation to ensure that it meets the original requirements and vision.
· In collaboration with the project manager or project lead, address any client complaints or concerns and work with the project manager to ensure client satisfaction.
· Staying up-to-date about current design trends and materials, techniques, and other developments in the interior design field.
· Performing additional related duties as needed.
· Following building codes, guidelines and regulations; and looking for guidance and advice as needed.
