Salary Range: $ 89,548.00 - $173,449.00
Position Summary:
The Commodity Manager will develop category level sourcing roadmaps, metrics, strategies, advanced cost modeling, budgeting, and initiatives to drive towards a world-class supply chain for a multi brand plat form. This person will develop, coordinate and manage the annual and long-term strategic plans including contracts and strategic partnerships. This Commodity Manager will develop an in-depth understanding of the respective supply markets, and vertical categories to recommend strategies and manage risks. This individual will work closely with Project Management team to help define schedule and refine scope of projects. The Commodity Manager will work with the R&D team to identify materials and seek partnerships with companies and seek exclusivities on technologies where possible. This individual will work with engineering teams on NPI (New Product Introduction) including Textile Development and Color material and Finish (CMF) activities, advanced manufacturing methods, and supplier selection. This individual will be responsible for reducing the total procurement costs to attain margin goals while improving quality and service.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies through analysis of company specifications and requirements.
- Work as part of the NPI team manage projects including, pre-costing activities, supplier selection, materials selection, schedule management, tooling RFQ, textile development, CMF, and implementation of new projects.
- Manage NPI sourcing team activities and execute on new product and project introduction and close-out
- Qualify and on-board new and prospective suppliers, and work with Quality and Engineering on supplier development
- Utilize strategic sourcing methodologies to insure highly competitive pricing, and quality.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of assigned commodities, global supply markets, and pricing trends.
- Provide management with forecasts of market conditions, price trends and potential problem areas.
- Develop, negotiate, and execute contracts/agreements with suppliers that minimize total cost, improve quality and assure on-time delivery.
- Analyze and evaluate quotations submitted directly or in response to Request for Quotations to assure that quality, capability and total cost are satisfactory.
- Review and substantiate price change announcements and communicate information with appropriate personnel.
- Lead cross functional commodity teams to establish and implement commodity strategies and tactics with particular emphasis on VAVE (value-analysis/value-engineering), process improvement, joint cost reduction and business strategy
- Collaborate with Marketing and Design teams on new materials, methods of manufacturing including sustainability initiatives.
- Partner with factories for rapid sampling and prototyping of products and materials. Identify and address key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and plans accordingly to deliver proven and tested products.
Qualifications, Skills And Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or relevant field required.
- 7+ years in Category management in a progressive strategic sourcing environment.
- Strong skill set in plastic injection, metal fabrication (casting, stamping, welding, extrusions), wood production, fabric development knowledge, and finishing.
- Development Experience and CMF development for color.
