Supplier Sustainability Mgr, Global Supply Management
MillerKnoll is looking for a Supplier Sustainability Mgr to join our Global Supply Management organization. As a Supplier Sustainability Mgr, you will be responsible for managing and implementing initiatives in support of the company's sustainability strategy with a focus on Scope 3 emissions in our supply base. You identify and assess sustainability opportunities, develop and implement programs to reduce the company's environmental impact, and communicating progress against targets.
You will build momentum as force for change by engaging internal teams across product, corporate functions, broader manufacturing operations, and most critically within our tiered supply base to improve our environmental footprint. Achievement of our sustainability goals will be balanced with maintaining healthy, resilient, and reliable supply chains that can deliver our product strategies and achieve our margin goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee sustainable policies and strategies for MillerKnoll’s supply management organization and in-cooperation with corporate sustainability teams.
- Lead creation of targets and programs to be supported with execution across Global Supply Mgt, New Product Development, and Operations.
- Develop tools and methods to measure and improve sustainability in purchasing.
- Ensure that suppliers and service providers meet sustainability goals and requirements.
- Evaluate and monitor the performance of suppliers and service providers to assist and support their ability to meet sustainability criteria.
- Develop partnerships with sustainable suppliers and service providers.
- Engage with other compliance and legal teams to ensure social and environmental standards and laws are being met by suppliers and service providers.
- Analyze and recommend more sustainable purchasing alternatives.
- Participate in promotional activities and campaigns to raise awareness of sustainability achievements within supply base and internal organizations.
- Participate in working groups and committees related to sustainable purchasing advocacy.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that sustainable purchasing is included in their strategies and action plans.
- Track and identify trends and best practices to improve sustainability in purchasing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles and best practices
- Strong understanding of procurement principle and compliance, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues
- Preferred experience in sustainable sourcing, sustainable materials, or working on Scope 3 emissions impacts
- Experience working in the furniture or related consumer goods industry is a plus
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of personal integrity and business ethics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
