POSITION TITLE: Waste Reduction
REPORTS TO: Adam Robinson

Function
- Waste Reduction will be responsible for performing various tasks need it in the manufacturing support area. A person must be highly motivated and self-driven to ensure our customers receive superior service and quality products.
Responsibilites
- Operate forklift
- Learning & getting Certified on the Selcos (saws) to cut material
- Learning & getting Certified the Vertical Saw to cut small material
- Learning and training on how to make skids (custom in house skids) made from scrap material
- Unloads trucks and move materials
- Delivers and stores product in designated racking locations
- Picks material in specific production sequence
- Understands materials and colors
- Read and understand work orders
- Keeps warehouse clean, safe and organized
Requirements
- Forklift Certified onsite (Previous Driving Experience is a Plus)
- Must be able to read and understand paperwork (parts, locations, special instructions/notes)
- Take the initiative to keep busy and find tasks for the day
- Identifying materials to cut down to appropriate parts/ sizes (knowing what is appropriate to throw away) Small parts non usable
- Find new ways to better save material to reduce waste
- Finding a location to store dunnage boards (bad material) 4X8, 5x8, & 5X10
- Knowing how many boards we are cutting down a day (Keep a spread sheet) To document savings
- Knowing when to communicate with the Supervisor when is need it to cut materials down (ask if he can help) or if you have to cut material yourself.
- Keeping track (Inventorying) of what we cut, how many skids of material we have on hand documenting daily / weekly
- When not moving material around, Cutting, updating inventory of waste materials, we are making Skids and looking for improvements. Cleaning up outside around dumpsters & dust boxes. Might be tasked with other duties.
