The Product Test Engineer is responsible for the execution of the testing and calibration requirements for the R&D testing and calibration laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the execution of testing and services of the Lab
- Provides technical assistance to ensure accuracy of testing, analysis, calibration, and reporting to the customer
- Validate engineering by identifying and testing to appropriate Kimball and external standards
- Responsible for conducting testing and calibration in accordance with the quality system
- Provide support to product line management, engineering and design in new product development, engineering changes and process improvements
- Support PDP and NPI processes
- Work with PLM, Engineering and Quality to resolve product field performance issues
- Develop new internal product performance standards and test methods to meet changing product use conditions and new product markets
- Develop new material performance test standards and test methods
- Support PLM, field sales and customer service with product performance technical inquiries
- Work with engineering and corporate risk on field liability risk issues
- Responsible to facilitate testing with outside labs
- Conduct facility tours of the testing lab for guest services
- Complete projects in a timely manner
