Reporting to the Vice President, Business Transformation & ERP, the
IT Director, Business Relationships Manager leads and oversees the development, implementation, and optimization of ERP system applications supporting Finance, HR, and Legal functions. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of ERP systems, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to align technology solutions with business objectives.
This role will manage teams of product managers and partner cross-functional teams and leadership to deliver innovative, efficient, and scalable solutions that enhance organizational productivity and compliance.
Working at HNI
This role is a leader in the IT department within HNI with direct reports including individual contributors as well as managers of small teams. It is a partner to multiple areas of the business and represents the Corporate ERP Applications team and its products in high-level strategic and planning discussions with company leadership. Thus,
this position requires regular onsite presence at our locations in Muscatine, IA – we are not able to consider remote candidate or candidates who cannot be physically present in Muscatine on a weekly basis.
What This Role Does
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Act as a trusted technology leader providing guidance, consultation, and influence on business strategy related to technology solutions for Finance, Law, and Member & Community Relations (Human Resources).
- Develop and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for ERP system applications supporting Finance, HR, and Legal functions.
- Align ERP solutions with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and emerging technology trends.
- Identify and prioritize product enhancements and features based on business needs, user feedback, and market trends.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Finance, HR, and Legal teams to understand their needs, pain points, and strategic goals.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors.
- Facilitate requirements gathering, validation, and translation into actionable development plans.
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from discovery and design to delivery and support.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful product launches and updates.
- Coordinate with development teams to deliver high-quality ERP solutions, adhering to Agile methodologies.
System Optimization & Support
- Continuously evaluate ERP system performance and implement improvements to enhance user experience, system efficiency, and scalability.
- Manage system upgrades, patches, and integrations to ensure compliance and functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues, coordinating with IT support teams as needed.
Data Governance & Compliance
- Ensure ERP solutions comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including data security and privacy standards.
- Collaborate with internal audit and compliance teams to address any identified risks or gaps.
Performance Measurement & Reporting
- Define and monitor KPIs to assess the effectiveness and ROI of ERP system applications.
- Provide regular updates and insights to stakeholders and leadership teams.
What You Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum 12 years of progressive IT experience that includes proven success in a leadership capacity managing business relationships and gaining business/IT alignment
- Experience with Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion implementation
- Working knowledge of:
- ADP, Oracle HCM and ERP Financials (EBS and Fusion), UKG (Kronos) and other HRIS and financial applications
- IT operational experience with solution delivery methodologies such as waterfall and agile.
