Compensation range: $110,000-$125,000/annually, Management Bonus, Sales Commission Plan

Position Overview
Position Summary
Porter Hospitality seeks an experienced Director of Sales and Events to lead and grow our events and cultural programming department. This individual will oversee the strategic planning and execution of ticketed events, private bookings, and in-house cultural programming across multiple outlets in the Seattle area, with the potential to expand into a multi-state leadership role. The Director will drive revenue, curate exceptional guest experiences, and foster community engagement. They will actively prospect and close new business, attend trade shows, and conduct sales calls to drive awareness and growth for Porter Hospitality.
Essential Functions

- Strategic Leadership: Serve as the business leader for the events department, aligning activities with Porter Hospitality’s mission, values, and financial goals.
- Event Sales and Operations: Actively prospect and secure new sales opportunities, manage sales pipelines, close contracts, and oversee the flawless execution of client-booked events across multiple locations.
- Cultural Programming: Develop and implement innovative, internally curated programs to activate Porter’s spaces and enhance guest experiences.
- Financial Performance: Establish and achieve revenue and profitability targets for ticketed events, private bookings, and programming initiatives.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering collaboration across departments and locations. Recruit, develop, and manage a growing sales and events team, ensuring personnel are equipped to achieve individual and collective goals. Supervise the Cultural Programming Manager and collaborate closely with department heads in Operations, F&B, and Marketing to align budgets, KPIs, and program strategies.
- Operational Efficiency: Develop and maintain scalable systems and processes to ensure consistent event execution. Provide regular reports on performance metrics, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates.
- Growth Opportunity: Lead operations across Seattle-area outlets while preparing for regional and multi-state expansion, contributing to Porter Hospitality’s broader strategic vision.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills. Role will require the ability to work as a team with internal departments, external vendors, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and to prioritize workload, adapt to changing priorities, and meet aggressive deadlines. Ability to see the big picture.
- Ability to create and manage an event from the planning stages through clean up while staying within budget.
- Proven experience in event management, cultural programming, or a related leadership role.
- Strong book of business and established industry connections in the Seattle area.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed revenue and profitability goals.
- A creative mindset with the ability to design and execute programs that resonate with diverse audiences and clients. Passion for hospitality, community engagement, and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Experience managing multiple locations; scaling operations across regions is highly desirable.
Education/Experience
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience of leading a Sales Team
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
