Job Description: Interior Designer (Healthcare and Medical Projects)
Position Summary: We are seeking a talented and experienced Interior Designer with 4-10 years of professional experience and a specialization in healthcare and medical projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of evidence-based design principles, regulatory compliance, and a passion for creating functional, healing environments. This role will require close collaboration with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver innovative, high-quality designs that meet the unique needs of healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Design and Development:
- Lead the conceptual and detailed design phases for healthcare and medical projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and industry standards.
- Develop and present design concepts, mood boards, material selections, and 3D renderings.
- Ensure designs support patient care, staff efficiency, and safety through evidence-based approaches.
Client Engagement:
- Facilitate client meetings to gather requirements, present ideas, and incorporate feedback.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare clients, understanding their unique needs and challenges.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate interior design into overall project plans.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers on the team.
Documentation and Project Management:
- Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules for furniture, finishes, and equipment.
- Oversee procurement and installation processes to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Conduct site visits to ensure quality and design fidelity during construction phases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 4-10 years of professional experience, with a significant focus on healthcare and medical projects.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare design standards, codes, and best practices.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- NCIDQ certification is preferred; LEED or WELL accreditation is a plus.
